* NHS services are provided to schools and during school term time surgery times vary.
Appointment availabilities are subject to doctors’ holiday, study leave, teaching and administration
commitments and sickness.
Out Of Hours Service
Telephone advice calls should be confined to normal surgery hours. Out-of-hours services should be used
for emergencies only.
Emergency CALLS TEL: 763377 - the surgery answer phone will give the number of the
out-of-hours provider to contact. If there is any problem contacting a doctor dial 999 and ask for the
ambulance.
NHS Direct provides confidential health advice and Information. Tel: 0845 4647 (24 hours a day)
or visit their website at: www.nhsdirect.nhs.uk
Nights and Weekends
If a medical problem arises when the surgery is closed the duty doctor may be contacted by ringing the
SURGERY NUMBER (Canterbury 763377) first. A recorded message will then give you the number to ring so, if
you call them from a public telephone, please have extra coins available.
You may be asked to contact STOURCARE, our out-of-hours provider.
A STOURCARE doctor will often be able to give advice on the phone and, if they feel it is appropriate,
will sometimes arrange for you to attend their premises. If you are too ill to travel, an emergency visit
outside normal hours may be arranged. In the interests of efficiency, all telephone conversations are
recorded.
If expecting a home visit, please ensure that your house displays a light and an easily seen name or
number to help the doctor find you after dark.
